Quarterly Church Conference

The congregation will gather on Wednesday night, July 26, in the Fellowship Hall for a little business and a little fun! A taco dinner will begin our night together; serving lines open at 5:15pm. Then we will gather for our Quarterly Church Conference, where we will hear the regular business of the church along with a proposal from the Special Committee on Facilities and Mission (SCFM) to hire the architect and capital campaign consultant for our upcoming building work. The recommendation will include hiring Joe Bircher, Senior Project Architect & Partner at Walter Robbs Callahan & Pierce here in Winston-Salem, and Ruben Swint, capital campaign consultant behind The Generosity Guy.

Neither Joe nor Ruben are strangers to First Baptist! Joe is a member and has worked with us on a variety of projects, most recently the Ammons-Lolley Commons and renderings of our physical space as part of the SCFM's proposal. Ruben led the 2006 "Heritage and Hope" capital campaign at First Baptist to renovate the Sanctuary, and has recently led our sister church, Knollwood Baptist, in their capital campaign for the Wellness and Community Center.
Following our time of business, we will move into the "talent" portion of the evening with our 2nd Annual "Tacos & Talents" variety show! Break out your musical instruments, monologues, or mad dancing skills for this evening of fun and holy laughter. Work up your acts, and let Annice Hogsette, our evening emcee, know of your intent to perform! Hope to see you there!
